Sony WF-1000XM4 Review: Incredibly Powerful Earbuds

When it comes to wireless earbuds, we think of Apple’s Airpod first. Because of its high-quality music and wireless range. When such a device already exists in the market, it is tough for users to find the best alternative for Airpods.

However, it is tough to find a pair of earbuds that gives similar quality as what AirPods offers. But, if any brand can beat Apple’s AirPods, then undoubtedly it will be Sony’s WF-1000XM4 earbuds. The second-generation WF-1000XM4 earbuds have launched in the market in its more mature era.

Sony’s second-gen true wireless earbuds are compelling against their overall counterparts in terms of features and specs. And its

The newly launched true wireless WF-1000XM4 is Sony’s huge success. WF-1000XM4 is pretty small, light-weighted, and more hi-tech than ever. However, it has some issues, but when it comes to overall performance, there is literally no one in the field to compete with it.

Sony’s true wireless WF-1000XM4 earbuds are slightly more expensive than its predecessors. But it comprises more features than ever, so a slight price increment won’t affect you. Its compact design makes it portable, and the accompanying app allows you to easily manipulate the controls and your EQ settings.

Price and Availability

The WF-1000XM4 is finally on sale now. It costs USD 279.99. You can Pre-orders Sony’s WF-1000XM4. They’re available on Best Buy and Amazon, and they are likely to start rolling out in July.

If you’re outside the United States, then these Earbuds will be available at £250 in the UK. If you are in Australia, then you can get it at AUD 450. But unfortunately, Sony isn’t launching its latest earbuds in Canada until July. But after its launch, you can get them at CAD 400.

Design of WF-1000XM4

The previous WF-1000XM3 provided us several reasons to suggest them. But Discretion was not high enough on that queue. The WF-1000XM3 was big in size. So, eventually, their charging case was also heavy and big. But this time, Sony has reduced the size of its latest earbuds that make them more comfortable and portable. The latest WF-1000XM4 comes with a 10% reduced size, and its charging case is 40% reduced than its predecessor.

Sony’s true wireless WF-1000XM4 earbuds include a few of the features initially demonstrated on previous year’s WF-1000XM4. Features like noise cancellation, quick pairing for windows and Android devices, and “speak to chat,” etc. Active noise-cancellation is augmented by the newfound polyurethane ear tips specially developed to offer modified passive noise reduction.

Your one-stop solution for controlling the latest earbuds is Sony’s fully featured and stable Headphones app. With this app, you can fully control your WF-1000XM4 wireless earbuds. It also has EQ adjustment with area for a custom preset or two. Plus, the option for enabling auto-pause and DSEE Extreme on or off.

Control is also available with three voice assistants- Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri, which can be enabled by their built-in “wake” word.

Features of Sony’s WF-1000XM4

  • WF-1000XM4 has an enhanced V1 processor
  • WF-1000XM4 has an Improved long-lasting battery.
  • Sony’s new earbuds incorporate a comprehensive roster of features

Sony has skipped the WF-1000XM2 to show the full-sized and WF-1000XM3 editions were of the same lineage. If the WF-1000XM3 models were close, then the XM4 editions are interweaved. When it comes to features, everything on the full-sized WF-1000XM4 is present here.

Sony’s latest XM4 has 8 hours battery life per earbud, which is two times greater than the WF-1000XM3.

While with noise cancellation off, the battery lasts for approx.12 hours. The charger case consists of three charges, but the highest the XM4 can touch is 36 hours. When noise cancellation turns off, the battery lasts four times more than WF-1000XM3.
