Before moving forward, note that the new feature is named as ‘news and interests.’. While the feature is minimized, it’ll give you a quick glance at any latest news alert and the current weather. However, tapping and opening the widget will open a new window, that’ll view the detailed news and weather information.

The new feature is going to be an interesting element of Windows 10. Therefore, if you want to know more about the same, below mentioned are some of the top features that’ll be offered by the widget. So, read along to learn more!

Personalize Your Feed

The ‘news and interests’ widget will enable you to opt for the content you like viewing more often or don’t like viewing at all. Therefore, once you personalize your feed, the stories that you like viewing will appear more in your feed. Additionally, you can use emojis to react or comment on the stories you view.

Staying Up to Date

This feature allows you to take a sneak peek at the news and interests from the taskbar without opening the new window. You can view the top headlines, weather, sports, and much more with a single tap. Interestingly, you can access information from more than 4,500 global brands, including BBC, The New York Times, etc.

You’re in Control

This tool offered by Microsoft enables you to control the tracking by advertisers and other third-parties.

It is a choice given to the users to hide the information ticker in case they don’t want to view it. Notably, if you want to use the new features, you’ll need to have Microsoft Edge installed. Otherwise, you will not have access to any of the new features.

While the company is testing the new features with its Windows Insiders on the dev channel, it is likely to roll out anytime soon in 2021 itself. It is essential to mention that initially the features will be limited to testers, including Canada, the US, Australia, and India only.
